The Art of Illusion
Sleight of hand, straitjacket escapes, and close-up wonder — each one polished until it feels impossible.
It started with a magic kit from a Texas book fair.
I'm Fermin Garcia. I grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, saw my first magician in kindergarten, and performed my first show for my 3rd-grade class. As a teenager I apprenticed under a professional magician known as Valdino, who taught me sleight of hand, the secrets of the craft, and a philosophy I still work by.
Magic is like an old coin — before you show it to anyone, you make sure it's polished. You refine the trick until it's executed perfectly. Valdino, on the craft
I later served in the U.S. Air Force with the 5th Munitions Squadron at Minot Air Force Base. The same discipline — precision, situational awareness, and a habit of sweating the details — carried straight from the close-up table to the flightline.
When I perform, it makes people happy — and you never know what someone is going through. A simple trick can turn their whole day around. Fermin Garcia
